Mission Statement

Career Development

The OCHYCC connects students with the corporate world by developing a series of roundtable discussions. The Roundtables, which are essentially workshops, were developed to prepare students for entry into the work force. Examples of the roundtable topics include Business Etiquette, Networking, Leadership, Public Speaking and Presentation, Mock Interviews and Professional Communication.

Key presenters and guest speakers have included corporate and community representatives from Verizon Wireless, AT&T, State Farm, Disney, Ernst & Young, Wells Fargo, the Small Business Development Center, and many more. The Roundtables provide participants with professional expertise experiences in corporate and community environments.

Community Involvement

Being part of the OCHYCC stresses the importance of community involvement and making a difference by giving back to the community.

The OCHYCC creates a bridge between our members and business leaders in the Orange County area. Through volunteering opportunities, we encourage our members to network and build relationships with potential employers, mentors, and colleagues that will aid them later in their careers.

The youth chamber's main partner for these comunity service and networking events is the Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Access to Higher Education

Education is a key component of our program. The youth chamber encourages our member to alwas strive for the next step in their education, may it be their first year in college or their last year in graduate school.

Therefore, the OCHYCC provides scholarships in order to assist in the achievement of these goals. Since our founding in 2009, the OCHYCC has rewarded over $42,000 in scholarships to both college and high school students who showed a strong presence in the youth chamber's events.

In addition, the OCHYCC is partnered with LBSA (Latino Business Student Association) at the University of California Irvine, and California State University of Fullerton. Through this partnership, a connection to four-year universities is created, which can later result in more scholarship opportunities for our members.
